CRPF moves into interior villages in Nandigram

Nandigram: Fresh violence broke out on Monday evening in two interior villages of Garchakraberia and Tekhalibazar areas in troubled Nandigram after which CRPF personnel entered those places.

  • Though no police confirmation of the violence was available, sources in anti-farmland acquisition Bhumi Ucched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC) said CRPF personnel had entered some villages in the two areas.

    Meanwhile, BUPC member Milan Pradhan said three rape victims of Garchakraberia were admitted to Nandigram hospital on Monday evening.

    He alleged they were raped when their village was attacked on Sunday allegedly by Communist Party of India-Marxist activists.
