Maoist training centre busted in Latehar


Latehar, Oct 25: Security personnel have busted a permanent training centre of the maoists near Sarju in Latehar district and seized arms and ammunition during the three-day 'operation Vikram' simultaneously carried out in four districts.

The operation started on October 23 and the training centre was discovered the next day, the police said on Thursday.

Besides a large amount of explosive sticks and three guns, the security personnel also recovered other explosive material, utensils and grains from the camp, the sources said, adding no maoist was present at the centre.

The operation, which ended today, was being carried out in naxal-influenced areas of Latehar, Palamau, Garwah and Gumla.
