Virasam ask left to withdraw support to UPA

HYDERABAD :The Revolutionary Writers’ Association (Virasam) on Sunday wanted the Left parties to think of withdrawing support to the UPA Government at the Centre instead of prevailing upon its chairman Sonia Gandhi for change in the leadership in the State in the wake of the Mudigonda police firing that left seven persons killed.

Led by Varavara Rao, Virasam member, a 13-member delegation of Virasam visited families of the deceased and consoled them.

The delegation condemned the killings and expressed solidarity with those fighting for land.Mr. Rao said the police firing in Nandigram was supported by the UPA and now the Left parties had no moral right to talk on the Mudigonda incident.
